Art has the power to reflect our identities, our struggles, and our choices. In this context, the portrait series "Creature Ladies" emerges as a deeply reflective and visceral proposal. Focusing on creative women from various disciplines, this series seeks to honor their work and highlight the personal and emotional connections these artists have with their animals, who are an essential part of their family core and often a source of inspiration and companionship.
Although art created by women has always been present, it has historically been undervalued or made invisible. Since ancient times, women have been the guardians of oral traditions, the creators of the first artistic expressions, and those who wove stories through generations. However, throughout history, male figures have dominated the narratives about art and culture. This phenomenon has perpetuated a biased narrative that, for generations, has excluded the voices and perspectives of women.
This project shows us how these women work in their most intimate environment. The woman is not a model who smiles; she is an active model, telling us through her gestures about her way of focusing and creating. It is beautiful to see the bodily positions she adopts in each activity and how the surrounding environment becomes her symbolic world, which brings us closer to other motivations that intertwine with her creative task.

These women live with animals. This series explores a special relationship about how animals contribute to the relationship with ourselves and creativity. Pets are part of what we give them, and we are part of what they give us. In the series, they are represented symbolically to build a narrative about the protagonists.
In many cultures, animals have been crucial figures in folk tales and folklore. The symbolism of animals in art and popular beliefs has a long history. Throughout history, various cultures have told stories about women who possessed extraordinary abilities, often linked to nature and animals. These figures were seen as creators and wise and usually portrayed as powerful. However, in many cases, these same women were demonized, persecuted, or rejected because their connection to the animal kingdom and their independence challenged the social norms of their times.
While this collection does not take an esoteric point of view, it seeks, through sociology, to understand the myths created and, in turn, construct a personal imaginary with them.
In a way, "Creature Ladies" brings to light this forgotten or repressed power, celebrating women who, like the ancient mythological and folkloric figures, choose to live and create from their relationship with nature, their animals, and their autonomy. The series is not only a tribute to creative women but also a reminder of the importance of preserving and honoring the various ways of being and existing as a person and as a woman, free from social impositions.
